5 Gym Tips For Beginners: How To Train Alone

Here’s the main thing to remember… everyone was a beginner once! I’ve put together a list of 10 Gym Tips For Beginners that I wish I’d read before I started going to the gym. These should also help if you’re wondering how to train alone too, as I know going to the gym on your own can be daunting – but I’m here to tell …

What I Have Learnt In 1 Year On YouTube

If you’ve been living under a rock, you might not know that I started a YouTube channel in July 2020. I um-ed and ah-ed about it for so long and now my only regret is not starting it sooner! I’m splitting this post into two parts as I wanted to share some things that I’ve learnt on YouTube over the last year (and a bit) …

Menstrual Cup Tips & Tricks

This is post I’ve been meaning to write forever, well since I got my menstrual cup back in October. I’ve seen menstrual cups pop up more and more over the last couple of years, but to be honest I never thought they’d be right for me, or I wouldn’t be able to use them for some reason. That is until, of course, I tried one! …

4 Benefits Of Working With an Online Fitness Coach

Last year I finally launched my online coaching services, which you can read more about here. It was a natural step from teaching fitness classes and having my Level 3 Personal Training qualification, after I attempted working in a gym at the same time as attending a full time dance degree (as in dancing for 6+ hours a day, not just attending a lecture / …

2020 Reading Round Up: 22 Books

I did want to post this at the end of 2020 but ironically I was too busy reading to have time to finish editing and writing this… so here we go! This is the order in which I read the books too, it was a slow start but as soon as Lockdown 1.0 hit I got so invested in reading for the first time in …

2020 Round Up: Part 2

You may remember back in June I wrote my 2020 Round Up: Part 1, as the first six months of this year were kind of eventful. If you missed that post, or if you’re new here, read it here. Is it just me or has this year been simultaneously the slowest and fastest year of your life? January seems like a lifetime ago, but somehow …

Reflecting On My 2020 Goals

I just stumbled upon this blog post from Blogmas 2019 where I wrote all about my 2020 goals and figured now would be a great time to reflect (and laugh) about them! Obviously 2020 has been a really tough year for everyone and no one could have predicted it, so it’s understandable that a lot of goals have not been able to be in reach …

I Got Coronavirus

Bit of a different post today… I wanted to share my experience of testing positive for Coronavirus. I know that it affects people very differently so I thought I’d sum up my experience and how it affected me, and how I am now. I tested positive on the 18th October, so it’s been a little while now so I can also talk about some of …

20 Affirmations To Say To Yourself Daily

    June 21, 2020

  • going for stupid walks for our stupid mental health 😤✨
  • highly recommend this book, it has so much info that I was like “wow why didn’t I know this already???”

I went on the pill when I was 19 to deal with acne and bad periods, with very little information about it or what it was actually doing to my body, which is kind of mad? I’m not saying the pill is bad and it definitely has its place but why aren’t we educated about these things in school?

I even tried to come off the pill during lockdown (completely cold turkey) and surprise surprise, those symptoms were still there if not worse.

after reading this I’ve decided to come off the pill again, but this time actively try and support my cycle and my body and try to improve any symptoms that come up through lifestyle and diet changes

it’s gonna be a journey and some trial and error, but I might share this on my stories if anyone’s interested!

in the mean time, go get your hands on the book 📖

so proud of all of these lovely ladies, to be able to provide a space for them to reach their goals and achieve more than they ever thought they could, is such a privilege 🫶🏼✨

  • this is your reminder that you can be on a health/fitness journey and you can still go out and have a good time 🍸

I know you hear “it’s all about balance” all the time but it’s true, being healthy 100% of the time is not healthy, and obviously going out and drinking every weekend isn’t either… enter ✨balance✨

but especially at this time of year, let yourself say yes to more things and give yourself permission to have a good time guilt free 🫶🏼

  • I really didn’t think reformer pilates was something that I’d be doing this early on in life - I thought it’d be one of those things that I finally came back to in my 30s or even 40s, but I’m so glad I’m doing it now 🥰

It compliments other styles of training SO well - weight lifting, dancing, yoga, it’s gonna help improve ALL of those other things

pinching myself that this is my job to teach people how to move their body and feel better in themselves 💪🏼

team teaching is well underway and I’m learning so much everyday but I’ve still got lots to learn before I’m let loose with my own classes 😉

#reformerpilates #reformerpilatesinstructor #pilates
  • truth time: I’ve not felt this bad about myself in a longggg time

however

I’m glad I went back to the gym today

It was my first session back in a couple of weeks, and even before that I’d say my training has been pretty inconsistent for the last 2 months, maybe longer

and I’m paying for it

I know my body hasn’t changed that much physically, but my mind is telling me it has and that I’ve let myself go and lost a lot of strength

I lost my mojo with gym training for a bit to the point where I just wasn’t going, but today was the first step back in the right direction 💪🏼

While I was talking to myself negatively, I thought “what would I say if one of my clients came to me feeling like this?”

I’d tell them they should be proud of themselves for making that first step and that’s all they needed to do to get back into the swing of things, and that the strength and everything else would be back in no time

So that’s what I’m choosing to listen to, and now we’re prioritising weight training minimum 2-3 times a week going forward 💪🏼

I’m not so sure I’m ready for the aches tomorrow

#fitnesstrainer #fitnessjourney #truthtime #fatlossjourney
  • you can handle whatever the week throws at you, go and slay sis 🫶🏼

p.s. my coaching offer is valid til 30th november
  • just out here ticking off some life goals 🤩

moving to london, teaching at pineapple, training in reformer pilates - if you’d told me at the beginning of 2022 I’d have done these things by the end of the year I wouldn’t have believed you 😅

I did my 2023 vision board this weekend too and we’re dreaming biggggg baby

otherwise what’s the point 🤷🏼‍♀️

what’s your proudest moment of 2022?💗
