Blogmas: Day 11 ‘Protein Banana Gingerbread’

If anyone’s actually paying attention to this you’ll notice this was post was supposed to be protein snowballs but unfortunately I’ve not had time to make those yet! But I did make this delicious protein banana gingerbread recently which you definitely need to try!

As a Free Soul Athlete I was sent (#adgifted) some of their protein powder and I chose the Vegan Ginger Biscuit flavour which you can find on their website (this is an affiliate link, read more here). Now onto the good part…

You will need:

  • 140g butter
  • 140g self raising flour
  • 140g sugar
  • 4 scoops of Ginger Biscuit protein powder
  • 1 tbsp baking soda
  • 3 ripe mashed bananas

The method is super easy, you just want to start with the butter and the sugar and mix them together to make a cream, then slowly sieve in the flower and mix together, finally adding the bananas protein powder and baking soda and mixing together so that there are as little lumps as possible.

Before you start you want to preheat the oven to 180 and grease a baking tin with a small amount of butter.

Bake the bread for about 25 minutes and then check to see if it is done by inserting a knife in the middle – if it comes out clean you’re all done and if not then put it back in and keep checking every 5 minutes.
