MORNING ROUTINE
Step one is to cleanse. I currently have these three cleansers on rotation. The Poppy Austin Vitamin C cleanser is a little bit stronger and a little goes a long way, you literally need the tiniest pea sized amount. I’ve had the Soap and Glory one for a while and I’m just using it up really, I have to say since I stopped using it in the shower I’ve found it much more effective, super moisturising and I’m actually tempted to buy a new one when this runs out. The Pretty Athletic gel cleanser is perfect for after my workout, it’s so refreshing. At the moment I cleanse my face three times a day: first thing in the morning, after my workout and before bed. Because I’m doing it three times, I think it’s more important to have more than one cleanser on rotation so that my skin doesn’t get used to it or start to get irritated, which I found was happening when I was using the Biore Rose Quartz and Charcoal Cleanser (which works well for use once or twice a week otherwise it can be drying). I currently don’t use a toner because I don’t have one, and I’m at the point where I want to invest slightly more into my skincare, so if anyone has any recommendations please let me know!

Next we have serums/oils. After cleansing in the morning I use the Skinkissed Face Serum. Again a little goes a long way, I put 2-3 drops on my fingertips and then massage it into my entire face, focusing on any problem areas.

After my workout cleanse, I also use the Pretty Athletic Workout Glow Spray. It’s so refreshing and does kind of act as a toner too. It’s actually recommended to use before and after you sweat to keep your skin hydrated.

Finally, I moisturise. My regular day cream is the Skinkissed Face Cream. You don’t need a lot and it’s really hydrating without appearing greasy, which I sometimes find. If I want something a bit lighter, I use the Pretty Athletic Sweatproof Hydrating Gel. You know that horrible slimy feeling you get when you use a thick face cream and then start sweating in your workout? Yeah, you don’t get that with the Pretty Athletic products! This can be used before and after your workout as well, but I like to alternate. I also have the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo Cream which I use very sparingly on problem areas of my skin.
EVENING ROUTINE
If I’ve been wearing make up or SPF, my first step is to take that off with the TALA Leaf Cloth. This has literally changed my life, you just add water and it takes everything off. Honestly life changing! I have always struggled with finding something to take all of my make up off, especially stubborn waterproof mascara. I have so many half used bottles of make up remover because I’ve tried so many and none of them work. I don’t even wear that much make up! Anyway, the leaf cloth is a game changer, definitely the best £5 I’ve ever spent. It even removed all of my dance show make up off.
Now, you should always double cleanse in the evening if you’ve been wearing make up or SPF, so after using my leaf cloth I go in one of the cleansers I mentioned before, either the Soap and Glory Cleansing Milk or the Poppy Austin Vitamin C Cleanser.
Next I go in with a couple of drops of the Pretty Athletic Recovery Boost Serum, you really don’t need a lot of this and it’s much thicker than the Skinkissed Serum I use in the morning. It feels so nice on your skin.

Every other night I use the Yeouth Retinol Eye Cream (it’s pretty strong so it’s not recommended to use overnight). I can’t really comment on its effectiveness yet as I’ve only used it a few times, but I’ve heard good things. By the time you’re reading this blog post though, I will have used it a lot more so feel free to drop me a message about it if you’re intrigued.

Finally, I moisturise. I’ll use the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo if needed, or the Soap and Glory Beauty Sleep Accelerator. I’ve been using this product for a long time (it’s nearly finished and I will need to get another one) I love how silky smooth it makes my skin feel and I feel like it really locks in the moisture through the night.

I also use a face mask once a week, I alternate between the T Zone Australian Pink Clay Mask which I love and will probably buy again, and the Botanical Lab Tumeric Blemish Control Mask which honestly makes my skin tingle a little too much and I just need to use it up.
It’s worth noting that I am an ambassador for Pretty Athletic (however they have not asked me to write this post, I just have because I wanted to), but I genuinely love these products and use them every day. I will never collaborate with a brand that doesn’t line up with what I believe in, and will never promote anything that I don’t genuinely enjoy using.
So that’s my current skincare routine start to finish, day and night! I’ve been following this religiously for the last week or so (before that my skincare was pretty sporadic) and I’ve definitely noticed a difference already. Also not washing my face in the shower and cleansing separately afterwards has made a big difference.

I DEFINITELY need to get better about this… my current skincare routine (if you want to call it that) sucks. I don’t do nearly enough to take care of my skin. I am going to take some inspiration from all the bloggers that I’ve seen sharing their routines like this and start to put something together that I can stick to!
That totally used to be me! The only thing I did regularly was cleanse and sometimes that was just a quick wash in the shower. It makes such a difference when you have a routine, and I find it really therapeutic too!
I loved reading your skincare routine Lauren! Since lockdown, I’ve set a better skincare routine for myself and my skin feels so much better for it! x
