I STARTED A YOUTUBE CHANNEL!
As some of you may already know… during Lockdown 1.0, I started a YouTube channel! It was something that was in the back of my mind for a while since I’ve got really into watching YouTube this year (see my favourites later on in the post!) and I feel like Instagram is going downhill a bit for everyone and I’m not enjoying it as much… All of that plus the fact that I was bored in lockdown and felt like I needed a new project… and my channel was born!
It actually started in July so this post is a bit of a long time coming, but I felt like I needed to officially announce it over here. I create a bit of a range of videos and I’m not quite sure how to describe my channel, but there are a lot of vlogs, fitness things, hauls/reviews and lots of fun videos with my flatmate.
I’M DOING VLOGMAS?!
Since we’re edging closer and closer to December, I keep thinking about Vlogmas and I think I’m going to give it a go! As a new small YouTuber it seems a bit daunting to upload every day I won’t lie, but I like a challenge and this term at college has been cut short due to Covid so I’m actually going to be at home for the majority of December! I’ve got some ‘normal’ videos pre filmed so they’ll be popping up too.
I’m excited for the challenge and hope some of you guys will come over and watch! I’d also LOVE to get to 200 subscribers before the end of 2020, so if you haven’t already, click here to subscribe to my channel.
Unfortunately this means I won’t be doing Blogmas this year (I wasn’t organised enough for that this time), but if you’d like some Christmas blog content, check out last year’s and get some inspiration here.
MY FAVOURITE YOUTUBERS
I also wanted to share some of my favourite YouTubers I’ve enjoyed watching throughout 2020 (note: these are in no particular order). It was going to be a comprehensive list until I realised just how many there were! Like I said, I’ve really got into YouTube this year and I do watch most of these guys’ videos consistently. I also like to think of my own channel as a bit of a combination of all of them, with my own spin of course.
Zanna posts workouts every week which are amazing and easy to follow, she also shares a lot about plant based diet and living sustainably in her weekly vlogs.
I’ve followed Steph since attending her Stay Sassy events and love her channel – I love how honest and real her vlogs are! She also shares a lot of content around being vegan, fitness/training and being a content creator.
Rosa was actually one of the people who talked me into starting my own channel, and we’re good friends on Insta! She posts mainly vlogs about being a mature uni student and activewear hauls
I’ve gotten massively into Meggan’s vlogs recently, they’re normally quite long which I love and her pets are the cutest! She also shares a lot of workouts/fitness.
I feel like I definitely watched some of Alfie’s videos back in the day, but got into them again this year with my flatmate. I love the natural style of his vlogs and the parts of his life that he chooses to share.
I actually went to uni with Aqua and she is a ball of energy, as you will see on her channel! She has some amazing dance fitness workouts on there and has also started vlogging too.
I binge watched Blathnaid’s entire channel over the summer when I came across it because she vlogged her entire cruise ship contract as a dancer, which is ultimately what I want to do so it was super interesting to see all the behind the scenes!
Elle is another one I’ve only got into recently, but I’m really excited to watch her Vlogmas! I love her and Connor’s relationship and how they are on camera, and their dogs are adorable.
Jen is another smaller YouTuber who also started her channel in lockdown! She’s a Personal Trainer as well so shares that side of her life in vlogs as well as her adorable kitten. She also has a Jen Vs series in which she tries new things which I love!
Katie is also a blogger, she mainly does weekly vlogs of her life living in London as a content creator, but I also love that she shares more adult content for women such as dating struggles and sex toys!
Leah is another of my Instagram friends who is killing the content creator game right now. She has recently started sharing her skin journey which I’m loving as I can relate to it so much.
Natacha is best known for creating science based fitness videos, busting myths and showing you the real science behind training methods, dieting etc. If ever you want more knowledge about fitness/training/nutrition, I highly recommend her channel!
Who doesn’t watch Zoe?! I definitely watched her back in the Zoella days, but got back into watching her and Alfie this year. I find her vlogs so comforting and again can’t wait for Vlogmas!
Who are your favourite YouTubers? Will you be watching any Vlogmas this year?
Remember to subscribe to my channel!

Zoe is a classic! Thank you so much Kayleigh <3
Best of luck for Vlogmas Lauren! Quite a commitment! You’ve had an amazing year though so this should be the cherry on the cake for you.
Thank you so much Tom!
Good luck for vlogmas! I love Katie Snooks’ content too. I used to watch Alfie and Zoe all the time back in the day but feel like I need to start again.
Tash – A Girl with a View
Thank you Natasha! Def recommend getting back into Alfie and Zoe, I prefer their content now!
Firstly congrats on starting the channel and good luck with vlogmas! I know I couldn’t post a video daily on there, it takes me all my time to post weekly ?
Some of my all-time favs are Dainty Dress Diaries, Mr Carrington and The Sorry Girls.

Congratulations on starting the channel. I almost forgot Vlogmas and Blogmas exist. This post was a reminder. Good luck with the Vlogmas!

It’s the best time of year for content for sure!
Congrats on starting your cannel! I wishhh I was brave enough and confident enough to do YouTube but my videos would literally be so boring haha. I’ve not heard of loads of these people so I’ll have to check them out. Not a fan of Alfie myself and I used to watch Zoe but kinda grew out of her content. I used to really like Katie too!
Thank you Jenny! Your support means the world 🙂 That is literally how I felt before I started mine, and still feel like my videos aren’t that interesting but I enjoy making them so there’s that! I definitely recommend checking Zoe’s videos out again because I feel like her content has evolved a lot!
Good luck with Vlogmas and thanks for sharing some of your favourite YouTubers! I look forward to checking them out.
Thank you!
How exciting!!! Hope you have a lovely Christmas! Cant wait to watch your vids x
Thank you so much – hope you have a lovely Christmas too!
God bless on your new challenge! With determination and skill, you can surely pull it off in no time!

I’ve never really gotten into the whole youTuber thing, but this gives me an interesting starters list. Thanks
I hope this helps you get into the world of youtube haha!
I’ve really been enjoying your vlogs… certainly motivates me to keep up with the exercise!
